Oakland Beach Dock Association Rules 2011
- Slip rental fees are for the period of April 1st through March 31st of the following year.
- Each boat in each slip must be registered to a dock association member.
- Boats may not exceed 25 feet in total length.
- Boats weighing more than 5,000 pounds must be in lift.
- All boats entering the dock association must register length and weight and be approved by the Dock Committee.
- Boats must be secured in a lift or to the cleats provided. Attachment of the mooring lines to anything other than a cleat is not permitted. Mooring lines must be secured and maintained in such a manner as not to be a hazard to pedestrians.
- Fenders must be used to prevent damage to the docks.
- The Dock Association reserves the right to require/prohibit the use of lifts at any point in the future.
- The Dock Association makes no guarantee on the water level within slips or suitability for use of a lift.
- Installation and removal of the lifts is the sole responsibility of the owner.
- Lifts wintered on the beach must be installed by May 15th or will be removed at owner’s expense.
- Lifts must be maintained in a level position and in good working order.
- Lift canopies and boats must not overhang walkways.
- Lifts must be removed prior to dock removal. Any lifts, which must be removed in order to facilitate the removal of the docks, will be at owner’s expense. The Dock Association does not take any responsibility for damages occurring to the lift.
- Lift must be stored on the beach during winter in designated areas.
- Lift width shall not be greater than 11 feet and/or over half the width of the total shared slip space.
- Personal watercraft (PWC) must be secured in a lift.
- PWC lifts will be placed in a designated area.
- The area in and around the docks as well as the area 150 feet beyond the docks shall be a NO WAKE ZONE. Operation of PWC or boats inside this area shall be at idle speeds only.
- Available boat and PWC slips will be allocated based on seniority by the Dock Committee.
- Only the Dock Committee may approve any permanent changes in slip assignments.
- Failure to abide by the above rules may result in membership termination as determined by the Dock Committee and the Oakland Beach Association Board.
- Any complaints and/or suggestions for improvement should be directed to the Dock Committee for consideration.
